Winter fair is a week-long livestock and commercial exhibit show with cattle, horses, sheep, goats, swine, llamas and rabbits. Competitions include a draft horse pull, team roping and sheep shearing. Food, arts and crafts booths, family day, lumberjack rodeo and various entertainment events. Admission $2 adult.

A three-day celebration of winter featuring a grand parade and royalty. Other exciting events include a torchlight parade, fireworks and ski exhibition on Big Mountain. Lots of fun is in store for the weekend including a royalty dinner, carnival brunch and dance, ice sculpture, skating exhibition, and cross-country ski races.

Betters, a defensive lineman for the Miami Dolphins and approximately 20 linemen from NFL and CFL football leagues gather at The Big Mountain to ski and raise money for children's hospitals. Events include a barbecue dinner Friday night, ski races and banquet on Saturday, Sunday morning breakfast plus public appearances and autograph parties.

Red Lodge's annual celebration of winter includes a Cardboard Classic Race, snow sculpture contest, carnival parade, costume contest, kids' events, Firehose Race, torchlight parade, fireworks and more. Events in town and at Red Lodge Mountain follow the selected theme each year. Entry fee for contests, no admission to spectate.

Artists from Montana and surrounding states celebrate the West through paintings, photographs and sculptures. The Quick-Draw is held Saturday in Riverside Park following the Bucking Horse Sale Parade that accompanies the third weekend in May activities. Artists have one-half hour to create a work of art that is auctioned immediately afterward. Music is provided; admission is free. Barbecue lunches are available in the park.

Glacier Fiddle Festival

Over 190 contestants perform and complete in the third largest fiddle competition in the Northwest. The fiddlers complete in 12 divisions. A nationally certified festival.

International Wildlife Film Festival

1997 marks the 20th anniversary of the International Wildlife Film Festival, created and based entirely in Missoula. The annual festival strives to elevate the quality of wildlife and nature productions. The IWFF includes many special events for people of all ages: public screenings of the world's best wildlife films, seminars and discussions on wildlife/film making issues, awards ceremony, WildWalk Parade, Children's Day in Caras Park, WildNight Costume Party, WildStage (performing arts), social events and receptions, guided tours to nearby bird refuges and wilderness areas, wildlife still photography competition and display, wildlife art displays.
